House Review

House is an intense, scary book co written by Ted Dekker ans Frank Peretti, both very established horror authors. This book tells about a group of people who get stuck in a house. In order to escape, they must give their capture one dead body in order to make it out alive.

This book has its very scary moments, but at times,I felt that this book ran in circles.I understand they were trying to escape ,but this book had a lot of fighting(verbal, not physical)over weapons and stuff. Also, this book had its odd moments where I was sort of confused.I may have over hyped this book though. My friends and critics said it was great and maybe that is why.I just was not as good as I anticipated.

The Book Thief Review

Long.Depressing.Inticng. These are words that describe Markus Zusak's masterpiece The Book Thief. This novel takes place in a small German town during Hitler's reign.Leisel lives with her foster parents. She starts stealing books from book burnings and the mayors wife. Also, her family hides a Jew,adding to the ever present danger! Overall, this book was enjoyable. Some of the morals are questionable, such as the young child's thievery and some of the language used by many of the characters. This is one of those books that defiantly need to be taken into historical context to be fully appreciated. There where some parts on this that were somewhat hard to read through, but I was glad I did. This is not a happy read for sure, and I recommend it for readers who have a sense of digression! Overall,I liked this book and will read more of Zusak's novels in the future!

Just Listen Review

Periodically,I'll update my Facebook status asking my friends what books I should read.My gal pals would always recommend me read something by Sarah Dessen. And I'll admit I didn't realize the urgency. But I was walking through the library, hoarding books like it was going out of style.I came across the book Just Listen by none other than Miss.Dessen.So,along with all my other books that I didn't necessarily need but was weak and caved into. And let me say,I am quite happy I gave into this book.Dessen grabs you from the beginning and hold you captive till the end. This book deals with real life issues like eating disorders and high school drama. In the future,I will just listen to my friends(ha ha) and read her books.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen Review

I recently read Confessions of a teenage Drama Queen by
Dyan Sheldon.

Mary Cep(or Lola,as she likes to be called) is a hopeless dramatic.
When she moves from New York City to Dellwood, she thinks all is lost. That is until she finds a friend in Ella,a fellow Sidhartha fan. They instantly became best friends. Also, Lola finds herself devoted to her role as Eliza in the school production of Pygmalion. But all these things seem to be put to a crashing halt when it is announced that Sidhartha, her reason for living, was going to split up.Her rival,Carla, told her there was going to be a farewell concert in New York City! They go through many trials as they try to meet Stu,the lead singer.

Overall, this book, was enjoyable. The only thing that I would say is that the back cover is very misleading. It leads you to believe the primes of the book is about her being in the play.Really, its about her obsession of the band and what she does to get there.Surprisingly, the book and the movie lined up ,more than what can be said for most others!Worth reading.I recommend it for teens 13 and up for mild language.

Princess in Love Review

I recently read Princess in love by Meg Cabot.

Mia has a lot on her mind. She has to introduce herself to Genovia, the small country she is going to become the ruler of.Or break up with Kenny, the guy that is in love with her,but she is not so in love with him, rather wither her best friend's brother,Michael. She has a hard time breaking up with him because she doesn't want to be dateless for the Winter Ball.
She also sent Michael notes professing her love to him.In the end, everything turned out for the best.

There were things I really liked about this and things I did not like.I really liked the aspect of a girl writing her feelings in her diary. She also faces a lot issues that girls in real life face. What I didn't like was the fact that there were a lot of liberal things in it.I really try to avoid reading too bias books. The reason mainly is the story takes place in New York.Overall,I loved it!
