I recently read Talk of the Town by Lisa Wingate.

Mandalay Florentino works for a show called AMERICAN MEGASTAR! This may sound glamorous, but her evil boss
Ursala is making her go to a "hole in the wall" town called
Daily,Texas to film the hometown reunion show for the
top 5 finalist Amber Anderson. Not only that, but stories are
running wild about Amber dating Hollywood playboy
Justin Shay, who was twice her age. With all that pressure,
Mandalay goes. The first night, someone double booked her room at the hotel she was staying at.She called the police because she thought he was a robber or something. But it turns out it was a cute cowboy named Carter. The next day,the laughed about it.
Later,Amber came home from Los Angles. Her home was battered. Also, her parents left her to her often drunk grandfather. But when they where trying
to sneak Amber into a show,Mandalay's assistant,Butch told her two things that made her mad!
The first thing was that her boss Ursala, was trying to bribe the people who count the votes
to make Amber loose.Second, she found out that her boyfriend,Carter, was actually a big time music person! also,Ursala was plotting to fire her! This made her very upset. When her boss
came to visit,Mandalay laid into her and threatened to expose her. That fuelled her motivation
to put on a great private show. And she did.Even then, something was still missing.Carter.She really wanted him back. When she was in the Baptist church, they saw each other. They fell right back in love.
This book has hometown charm!a plus!

Redemption of Sarah Cane review

One of my all time favorite reads is Redemption of Sarah
Cane by Beverly Lewis.

Sarah is a goal driven writer for a newspaper. All she wants to do
is get a head in life. But something tragic happened that altered
her plans drastically. Her sister, who lives in Amish country, dies.
In her will, she leaves her kids with her.

When they return to their aunt's house, the quickly realized they were different.
With school, and technology they were shocked. In the mean time,Sarah had a
hard time with coming up with a story for her paper. But then, she started writing
about her nieces and nephews.Readers loved it! But sooner or later they found out,and they left.
Sarah missed them, though. So,she went back to Amish country
to beg for all of their forgiveness. They were hesitant, but they end they forgave each other, making for a happy
ending!

I love this book because you can see a genuine change in the main character,Sarah. Also,
it taught me some things about Amish culture that I did not know!
