The Horse and His boy Review

I recently read The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis.
Shasta is the son of a fisherman who wants to sell him into slavery. So,Shasta decides to run away. That is when he discovered horse named Bree that could talk and also was from Narnia. So,they set out north. But they were not alone.Someone was following them,They discovered it was a girl and her horse, who also were running away. Her father was trying to force her into marriage. So,they all decided to take the journey together. They dressed in ragged clothes so they would not be recognized. But when they got to the city gates, the guards mistook Shasta for royalty. But,he soon met the real prince, who looked a lot like him. So,Shasta was able to escape. When he did,he realized he was at the place he was to meet the others if they got separated. He waited and waited for them, but they never came. But little did he know,Aravis the girl who traveled with him,was with her old royal pal,Lasaraleen. They tried to disguise her so nobody in the area would notice her. They hid in a hidden room for quite some time. Then, the both parted ways.Eventually, she reunited with the rest of them and they continued north. They traveled through a barren desert. And despite their udder tiredness, they made it to their destination:Anvard. But,when they got there, a lion attacked Aravis, wounding her greatly.Everyone but Aravis was lucky enough to escape.Later, when Shasta was riding,he heard a voice, which he later discovered was Aslan,Narnia's ruler. He was in Narnia, where he dined with dwarfs. In the end,he was called to battle.Even though he had no clue whatsoever about warfare, they still won the war!
I love the Narnia series!I think this book teaches a lot about valuable things like being humble, loyalty, and teamwork!I also liked the places they characters travelled, even though you might not always know where that place is!Lewis' mind is so creative! He is my second favorite author,(next to Nicholas Sparks!^_^)

Percy Jackson:Sea of Monsters review

I recently read Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan.

Percy Jackson's life seems to be pretty normal. The monster attacks have seized.Well, that is until a bunch of cannibals attempted to devour him in dodgeball. Then he had totally bizarre dreams about his friend Grover getting married,Then,he later found out that the walls of his enchanted camp were destroyed. He then had a vision that Grover needed to be rescued. So,despite the rules,he and his other friend,Annabeth, escaped from Camp Half-Blood.Not only did they do it to go save Grover, but to fin a golden fleece that would restore their camp walls. So,they set out on an adventure that included cyclops, riding with old generals from the 1800's and a lot more perilous things. But in the end, they saved Grover and the camp!

Percy Jackson is a great series!I love Rick Riordan and his work.I thoroughly enjoyed taking an action packed journey with each and everyone of his characters! As well as enjoying his work,I loved learning a little more about Greek mythology!

Princess in Waiting Review

I recently read Princess in Waiting by Meg Cabot.

Mia has a lot on her mind. She has a boyfriend Michael that she is crazy for.She has to learn to run a country and trying to dodge a self- centered prince named Rene. But despite all her country duties, she could not take her mind off of going home to see all her loved ones. But trying to balance all her princess duties and normal teenage duties was harder than planned. For example, her grandma wanted her to go to a ball when she already had planned a date with Michael. But to make it all worse, she made her dance with Rene! But,in the end, everything worked out for her!

I love these books!I love how Mia gets into funny predicaments with her grandmother and that she nearly looses it!I also like that even though she is a princess,Mia is still relatable!

Percy Jackson:The Lightining Theif Review

I recently read Percy Jackson:The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.
Percy Jackson is a miss fit of sorts. He has a learning dis ability and a history of expulsion. His mom married a total loser. But,luckily,he let them go on a trip while he sat on his lazy butt and played poker all day. So,they took his comero. But,unfortunately,a strange monster attacked them and wreaked the car!In order to protect him,she took him to camp Half-Blood.But in the process, his mom got captured, even though he defeated the beast. He met his friend Annabeth and Grover. At first,he had know idea what was going on.But then,he discovered that he was a half-blood,son of Poseidon the sea god.He had to find and return the lightning to prevent war between the big three.(Zeus,Poseidon, and Hades.)He had to dodge Medusa, fight Ares, and even face the god of the dead,Hades. He had a lot of help from Grover and Annabeth as well. They helped him by using their gifts. He also had a gift from the gift from the head of Camp Half Blood. It was what looked like an average ball point pen.But when he uncapped it,it turned into a powerful sword. After facing all the gods, the later found out that their fellow camp mate ,Luke, framed Percy to make people think he stole the lighting bolt. But,things worked out in the end.His stepfather was no longer and he lived on!
I went into this book knowing hardly anything about Greek Mythology.Of course,a lot of my friend's suggested these books,so I got it!And I'm glad I did!I was on the edge of my seat a good majority of the time! And whenever the lazy butt dad was mean to Percy or his mom,I yelled at the book in anger.:) I really think these books informed me on the different gods and their powers!I also liked Riordan's style of writing as well!Worth reading defiantly!
