Justin Meorgan had a Horse Review

I recently read Justin Morgan had a Horse by Marguerite Henry.

Justin Morgan and his student,Joel went on a journey to collect a debt that was owed to them. But the debtor gave them a weak looking horse. Despite the way it looked,Joel fell in love with the colt.he begged Mater Morgan to let him gentle him, even though he had an apprenticeship on top of it.People scoffed at him,but he trained hard.Eventually, the Morgan became the most powerful horse in history!

I really enjoyed many things about this book.Even though people made fun of the colts size,he still stuck with the colt to make it one of the best breeds of horses. Also, the pictures are well drawn!

Safe Haven Book review

I recently read Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks.

Jo's life seems to be boring until a girl named Katie moved in across the street. They instantly became good friends.Katie soon shared her dark past. She ran away from her abusive husband,Kevin. One day,she went to the local market. There she met the grey haired owner,Alex.Slowly, they fell in love with each other and Katie also fell in love with his kids.Despite her happiness, she was still worried about Kevin finding her.A few days later,Kevin snuck into his neighbors house and found Katie's identity. He took it and started to look for her. After many days,he found her,Alex and his kids. After many complications,he died and they all lived in peace and were a lovely family.

Safe Haven is the latest book from Nick Sparks. This is the first book of his that fully deals with abusive relationships.I learned a lot about the phsycology in the minds of the abusers and those being abused. This book did not disappoint me in my expectations. He defiantly exceed them!

I recently read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

To Kill a Mockingbird is told through the eyes of the young Jean-Louise "Scout" Finch. S
he grew up in the small town Maycomb,Alabama. She,her brother Jem and their friend,Dill were fascinated by Boo Radley,an old recluse that lived in a dark house in their neighborhood. The children always dared each other to go to go to the house and ring the doorbell. One time,Jem caught a glimpse of him! They all left horrified! Later, the children found random goodies stuck in the hallow of a tree which Boo left for them.

Later, while at school Scout was at school, she got called a dirty name.Everyone was harsh saying in a rude way she loved black paper. Later, she asked her father why the
y said that .He told her when people would say that,to remain calm and not retaliate. He told her that he was defending a black man in court,(which was socialy unacceptable. But despite everyone looking down upon him,he still
stood by his convictions. After many tiresome days and nights,Tom Robinson, pleaded guilty.
Atticus took this loss very hard. Then,a heartbreaking event happened. While trying to escape from prison he was shot multiple times.Atticus was outraged
by the injustice of the court system and how it was run.

Where do I begin?
First off, I love how this story is told through the eyes of a young child. That seemed to put a lot more innocence into it.They were put through a lot of hard trials and they, for the most part handled it with much maturity. You can relate to children because we all were children at on point in our lives.
Secondly,I love the character Atticus Finch. He seems to be very calm and posed throughout the whole book.He was a great example to his children,as well as all the people in his town.I also liked how no matter what people would say or do,he would still not back down from what was right.

I think this is one of the best fictional books ever written. We as humans can learn a lot from it! this is on my top 5 favorites list for sure!

The Notebook Review

I recently read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.

Allie Nelson and Noah Calhoun were once sweethearts. They met
at a carnival and were very close until they went heir separate ways. Then,a few years later, the reunited.Noah was still single, but Allie was engaged to a big shot lawyer. They started hanging out more and more and their intense feelings for each other started to rekindle.Despite her fiance, she still continued to hang out with him.Slowly but surely, they fell back in love.Allie had to make a choice between Noah or her lawyer boyfriend. Then, the story flashes many years later.Allie choose Noah,Then Allie got diagnosed with Alzheimer's and they grew older together!

Ok.The reason it took me so long to post this review is because I was fretting it.Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author, but this is the first book I did not like by him. This book is too gushy for my liking and I don't agree with Allie cheating on her fiance. Also, even if it was not so gushy,I still didn't really even like the storyline.I'm sorry Nicholas Sparks!

Percy Jackson:The Lightining Theif Review

I recently read Percy Jackson:The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.
Percy Jackson is a miss fit of sorts. He has a learning dis ability and a history of expulsion. His mom married a total loser. But,luckily,he let them go on a trip while he sat on his lazy butt and played poker all day. So,they took his comero. But,unfortunately,a strange monster attacked them and wreaked the car!In order to protect him,she took him to camp Half-Blood.But in the process, his mom got captured, even though he defeated the beast. He met his friend Annabeth and Grover. At first,he had know idea what was going on.But then,he discovered that he was a half-blood,son of Poseidon the sea god.He had to find and return the lightning to prevent war between the big three.(Zeus,Poseidon, and Hades.)He had to dodge Medusa, fight Ares, and even face the god of the dead,Hades. He had a lot of help from Grover and Annabeth as well. They helped him by using their gifts. He also had a gift from the gift from the head of Camp Half Blood. It was what looked like an average ball point pen.But when he uncapped it,it turned into a powerful sword. After facing all the gods, the later found out that their fellow camp mate ,Luke, framed Percy to make people think he stole the lighting bolt. But,things worked out in the end.His stepfather was no longer and he lived on!
I went into this book knowing hardly anything about Greek Mythology.Of course,a lot of my friend's suggested these books,so I got it!And I'm glad I did!I was on the edge of my seat a good majority of the time! And whenever the lazy butt dad was mean to Percy or his mom,I yelled at the book in anger.:) I really think these books informed me on the different gods and their powers!I also liked Riordan's style of writing as well!Worth reading defiantly!

Charlotte's Web Review

I recently read Charlotte's Web by E.B. White.

Wilber is the runt of the pig litter. The farmer was going to to kill him,but luckily, the farmer's daughter saved him.She would even frequently visit him.But he still needed a friend that lived on the farm. For some strange reason, nobody wanted to be his friend except for a spider named Charlotte. At first,he was shocked that she captured bugs, but then realized that's just the way she survived.Wilber had a fear also that he would be made into meat. So,Charlotte wove the phrase"Some Pig" into the web. This drew a lot of attention attention and they became local celebrities. A second time, she wrote radiant, which made them even more popular. So,he went to the fair!her last thing she weaved was,"Humble."Even thought he didn't win first place,he still got a prize. And it was all thanks to his friend Charlotte!

I know! This book is known! But trust me!I read it and fell in love with it all over again! This book is a story of selfless friendship and love. The way Charlotte took all of that time to save Wilber by weaving various sayings into her web is a perfect example.I know that White used
personification to make the animals more relatable, but I think I learned the most from them!

Marley and me review

I recently read Marley and Me by John Grogan

Marley and me tells of John and Jenny. One day, they got a golden lab from a local farmer. They named him Marley after Bob Marley. When they brought him home, they quickly realized what they got themselves into. For example, when he was riding in the car,he stuck half his body out the window while the car was moving.Even so,he was always there for them in times of need.Like when Jenny lost their baby by miscarriage .When their three kid were born,he showed them love, despite his getting kicked out of obedience school. He was their for them during their multiple moves. But then came a time where they needed to be there for him.As time passed,he got older,he grew less and less mobile. That's when they had to make one of the hardest choices of their lives. To put their beloved Marley.

I always go for books that have an emotional appeal and are real. This had a lot of things in it that were relatable and human like. Also,I love Grogan's style.even when he is talking about things that might not necessarily be funny,he puts a personal humor into it!There are some adult things mentioned here and there,so it might be good for older readers! But overall,Marley and Me was a absolute enjoyable read!

Princess in the spotlight review

I recently read Princess in the Spotlight by Meg Cabot.
Mia Thermopolis' life seems to be turning upside down. Her mom is pregnant with her algebra teacher's baby.(Which, ironically, she was failing algebra.)But to add to her confusion, while sick from school one day,she gets a mysterious letter from an anonymous admirer. Then,on top of trying to figure that out,she had to give an interview to one of the top news reporters in the country. She totally embarrassed herself and a lot of people at her school. Then, she got IM's from her mystery man. Also, her mom told everyone that she was going to marry her algebra teacher. So,her fancy grandma jumped in and started to pal an ever so fancy wedding, while Mia's mother was more into a low key wedding, which was on Halloween. After the '"wedding",she went to the "Rocky Horror Picture Show"with some of her friends, which she hoped to reveal her secret lover.
She really hoped it was her best friends bother, but it turned out to be her bio partner,Kenny.
I love this book for the most part.I found it quite annoying how the main character complained about her lack of breasts in almost every sentence, but I loved how all the women character's where strong willed individuals.Love it lots and Meg Cabot is a rare jewel!

So,he and his servant took off.Their first stop was in India, where they rode an elephant, witness a strange tribal ritual, and even save a young girl from being burned for a sacrifice..The from there, she joined them on their journey. Then from there, they rode on different types of transportation and went to different places, such as Hong Kong and San Francisco. And in the meantime,Mr.Fix,a detective is following their every move because he think Mr.Fogg robbed a bank. There were many times when they thought they were going to loose. For example,a herd of buffalos blocking a train tracks. But when they came back to London, they were a day late. But Phileas and the indian girl got married .That is when they discovered they were a day ahead! They won the bet!
I was really looking forward to reading this book. But,frankly, this book lacked adventure.I did, however, enjoy learning about different parts of the world.

to his parents house. His mom didn't like her at all.But he still invited her to be his date to his sister Megan's wedding.Marcus was there and caused trouble, which Will's mom blamed on Ronnie. But at other times,Marcus even tempted Will by threating to reveal secrets about his volleyball partner. He also let Blaze catch on fire. That is when Will fought him and two of his friends. But nothing prepared Ronnie for what came next. While they were watching the turtles, her dad started throwing up blood. When they went to the hospital, they found he had only a year to live due to stomach cancer. When he died, she finished a song he worked on and used it to audition for Julliard.
I liked this book because it had a lot of tender moments. It also teaches that you do not know what you got till it is gone.

Going Rogue Review

I recently read Going Rogue by Sarah Palin.

Going Rogue tells the story of Sarah Palin,Alaska's governor. She starts by telling of her childhood, her parents, and her siblings. Then she tells of how she met her husband Todd Palin. She runs for mayor, then advances to become governor of Alaska. She focused on Alaska's main asset:oil. She had a lot of people against her.But she still stood by what she thought was right for her state! One day,at a fair, she got a call from Senetor John McCain to ask if she would like to be his vice president running mate for the 2008 election. She and her family got attacked in every way imaginable. But one thing that was obvious was her love for her country and Alaska. And even though she and McCain lost, she still lost with a humble attitude.

I will be 100% honest,I went into this book thinking I'd be bored with all politics and whatnot. But Palin really put a lot of personal things in it that makes her very relatable as a human being.I loved every page, even if I did not understand everything said!
